Back in February – February 8 to be exact- I purchased tickets to the Aspire Women’s Conference. which was April 29th (yes…I was excited). The Aspire Women’s Conference has been around for about three years. It is centered around blessing women with all the things you find in a Christian women’s conference in one awesome evening! Which, not for nothing, works great with my schedule! I don’t often have the opportunity to take a Friday out of work nor a full Saturday. I will do to conferences when I can and I have loved the experience, I’ve learned so much and felt so inspired, but, by Sunday I am beat and when Monday rolls around, I am praying for the following Saturday to get some rest in! Not to mention, do you ever need that decompression time after a conference? You know when you can kind of sit and just gather all that God has shown you? That can be hard with life waiting for you right around the corner. I think I got more of a chance to have that time because of the Aspire Women’s Conference.
Here’s a brief snipped of the conference-
The conference began with host Mia Koehne who led worship and later shared some of her songs and her story. I knew part of Mia’s story because she was a guest on my station and I have also heard her speak at events. She opens up her life with a humbleness and truth that inspires hope and points straight to Jesus. She also happens to have an amazing voice and I couldn’t think really of a better way to prepare our hearts for the messages to come than worshipping along with Mia.
Comedian Kerri Pomarolli came up next and had us laughing in moments. Kerri is totally relateable. She shared stories that reminded us that there is joy even in the messiness of life and as crazy as life can get, it is a joy to look back on. I am so glad that she was a part of the conference! *If you see a chance to see Kerri Pomarolli, GRAB IT!
Shaunti Feldhahn gave all of us a lot to think about and really hit home on how to love on our husbands and our children too. I had read her book For Women Only and it totally impacted the way I viewed and appreciated my husband. She was also a speaker at the Proverbs 31 Ministries She Speaks conference I attended two years ago and offered so much encouragement to all attendees. At the Aspire Women’s Conference what she had to say actually rang home for me on the way I relate to my son! Totally unexpected! What a blesing she was!
Shannon Hoffpauir finished the night with Biblical teaching on the only female judge mentioned in the Bible, Deborah. She also shared about prayer with a story about her daughter. I have to say that Shannon touched my heart the most. She was a lively speaker and teacher and her story on prayer really had me thinking. I wanted to tell her after the program but there were so many people talking with her, I figured I would just share it here.
Well here as in on my blog…which I will to save from being a little too wordy in part 2
