I’m going to make this short and sweet.
Michigan like every state in the United States has lots of potential for so many things. It is beautiful. It is chock full of lakes. There are lots of fun things to do. You can experience all the different seasons in Michigan. It pretty much has everything covered.
For us it was about the potential we have in Michigan.
God has put Michigan in our path to work in ministry for me and I imagine to grow in faith for my husband and my son. Who knows though? God could open doors for both of them to work in ministry too. In fact they already have. Both have volunteered for the Christian station that I am now working at. This has given them an opportunity to give of themselves without getting anything back. Well, other than my big smile and a couple of sodas. Me, well, I do get a paycheck.
I am receiving that growth opportunity as well. I am not going to say that I am planted in a specific church yet, but there is just one that we have been attending so far. The pastor has just really spoke to us, and we are constantly getting that “Wow, I totally get it!” thing happening for us. That is awesome. Truly in the long run, I can be fed anywhere if my husband and son are being fed, and both of them seem to be getting just that. We may visit other churches when the pastor goes on sabbatical.
That is kind of the difference with where we are and where we were. I had a great job and I was being used by the Lord, but we weren’t in the position to really serve and grow in the Lord. I think I am getting that now. I think we will all have a solid chance to find our place and our part in His plan here.
Left or right, I believe God will bless us whichever way we go, and I know He will go before us.

Isaiah 30:21 has spoken to my heart many times over the years. Such a great verse in the middle of a great passage. 😉
I liked what you said about how how we can come to places in our lives where we are being used by the Lord, yet not really growing in our relationship with Him. We do have to be careful to not place the basis of our relationship with Him in the serving, right? How exciting that you are in a place where you have the opportunity to pursue more of Him, especially with your hubs and son!

Jeanne, it is always incredible reading your posts and your responses. You have such incredible insight. Thank you so much for coming for a visit. I am so grateful to God for putting us exactly where we are right now. I agree we have to be careful to not place the basis of our relationship with God in the serving side. Truly I believe that should just be the evidence of our relationship. Not in it to win it. Christ did that for me. 🙂 Thanks for always opening my heart and mind up with your thoughts. 🙂
