So yesterday I fell weirdly ill during our final day of our gift drive so today I am free writing twice because getting day 3 done was a problem. Today’s word (well this post for this part of today’s word) is: Problem.
Go –
Well this works out nicely. There kind of is a problem when you make some plans and something comes out of left field to derail you. For me it was a random illness. No idea really what it is and I am still a little cloudy headed, but I am realizing the importance of what to do when a problem comes our way. Here are a few things I have done and where I am today.
1 – Pray and give yourself a break. – Realize that things are going to happen to take you off course, but you have an amazing God who loves you and is by your side and He has grace for you and you owe it to yourself to receive that grace. Give yourself some grace.
2 – Pivot – When we get hit with a snag on our way to our goal pivot and keep moving towards the goal with maybe just a slight alteration in course. You still reach your goal but you reach it a bit differently. For writing online for 31 Days a snag could be a crashed computer or no internet. Crashed computer…write in a journal. No internet…write and post later.
2 – Delay with determination – Maybe there is no way to hit your goal today. So admit that is the case, and make plans for the day when you can hit it. Mark it on your calendar and do it. That is me today. I couldn’t write yesterday at all. I was working and then sick. So I delayed with determination and as soon as I felt well enough…here we are.
3 – Give up. Yeah…let’s not do that. You can do this. For me the goal is a simple five minute write, but it can be easy to walk away at first but later I will be pretty upset with myself because I am trying to build some consistency here and if I can’t give myself five minutes a day…I need to see why.
This is deeper than not being able to write yesterday, but a problem is going to rear its ugly head again and again until we learn to face it and grow through it. It is just the way life is. It could be eating healthier, exercising, writing, and it could be moving forward to a new career paths. It could be as simple as how we respond to stressful situations. We have to be the one to pound this issue out until the nail is flush and we can work on the next board. Our problems enable us to grow stronger. Our problems help us see that we are capable of more than we thought. We can move even farther than we realized even with adversity. Our problems take us to the next level in strength. So don’t give up.
Stop
Well that was interesting. More writing to come tonight. My head hurts.
xoxo

I love this. So glad I read it. Yesterday was one of those days for me too where I just weirdly felt really ill. The enemy is trying to stop us sending out a message I think. Thank you for your message.
