Here is a little something about me. I love books. I adore books. I want to own them all and I want to read them all. I am also pretty busy which means that although I buy books like crazy, I sometimes read them a little more off and on. There is a special need when I am reading a book which is I need to be on vacation so I can spend lots of time immersed in the story OR the book has to be so compelling that I have no reason to put it down.
The latter is the case with Kate Motaung‘s “A Place to Land.” I can’t go on about each subtle moment. What I will do is say that from the opening chapter through to the end, Kate’s book held my attention. This is a story of growing through life’s challenges, leaning on the Lord, love, family, loss, home and so much more.
Although I have not experienced the same ups and downs that Kate has, I have definitely been through some of the same and, of course, my own. I felt like I wasn’t reading a book so much as a letter from a dear friend. A letter that I could relate to. “A Place to Land” made me think, laugh and cry. It was beautiful. A Placed to Land reminded me that life is beautiful and it is important to connect to others and to God’s plan wherever you are waiting.
Five stars. Period.
