Lest you think that I am soley going to focus on romance in my hunt for delightful Christmas movies, I jumped right into one that from the looks seems totally great for the whole family.
So on to review number three – Pete’s Christmas.
–Hallmark Christmas Movie –
–About the movie– A 14-year-old boy named Pete had the worst Christmas Day ever and wakes up to find he must repeat the day again and again until he gets it right.
–Cast– Zachary Gordon as Pete Kidder, Molly Parker as Dr. Pamela Kidder, Rick Roberts as Ronald Kidder, Bruce Dern as Grandpa, and Bailee Madison as Katie
–My Review-Maybe it is because of my love of Groundhog Day but I have to admit, I have always been intrigued by the idea of reliving a day over and over again, but then again, who really wants to live and relive a bad day? Not Pete Kidder, and this Christmas is a very bad day for Pete. Think of any number of things that could go wrong on Christmas day at age 14 and you will probably hit one of those events for Pete. Pete of course at least has the solice that it is only one day…until it isn’t. Pete wakes up to Christmas all over again. Things are as bad as they were the day before and so is Pete’s attitude. In fact, his attitude was bad the first day. As the days roll on Pete begins to look beyond himself, and that is where the magic begins. There are some sweet moments, funny moments and you may also find some warm moments that will bring tears to your eyes. It is well worth the watch and definitely family friendly. It is rated PG.
I watched Pete’s Christmas via streaming on Netflix, but you can also purchase or view it via stream on Amazon.
This is definitely a film I would watch with my whole family.
