Quite some time ago…a long time ago I participated in Five Minute Friday. I am looking forward to getting more involved this year.
Today’s word Connect.
When I first saw the word “connect” on the screen, I kind of took a step back. Seriously, I am not quite sure if I am ready for this. Five minutes on connection…yikes. But then again. God is all about connection.Β
I work in ministry. We are all about connection. Our hope is to introduce others to Jesus and to support and lift up believers in their faith. I am blessed to see God in action in many different ways. Sometimes it is through the generosity of a donor who I know doesn’t have much, yet they give a week’s pay to bless someone else for the Christmas season. And then there are those musical moments, I love those moments when a song plays on the radio (oh I work at a Christian radio station), and someone calls up after they hear the song and they begin to share about a trial that is currently taking place in their life and how this particular song has completely touched their heart EXACTLY where and how they needed it.
I feel incredibly honored to be a small part of these moments, and appreciate the trust that these callers are willing to share something so personal with me. I see God at work. I witness His touch daily. I also see my own needs and feel it quite often when God lifts the veil and says “I’m here.”
He did that for me today. I had one of those stressing-over-quite-a-lot mornings and I just asked the Lord to help me. I asked God if everything was going to be all right. And of course in my heart I know that His plans for me are good and no matter what, it will be okay in the long run. Especially when measured to what others are going through. Still…I worried.
As I drove along with the prayer still on my lips…I looked at the sky. There were lots of golden clouds this morning and at the base of clouds on the left I saw a subtle rainbow. This rainbow did not arch all the way across the sky. It was just a smudge in the base of this cloud cropping. I knew. I just knew and know that it was placed there in that little corner just for me. And for that moment, I knew God was in control and God sees me. We connected.
Well, that completes my first Five Minute Friday in FOREVER! I hope that it will become a habit. If you would like to join in too, and I really think you should…head on over…right hereΒ Kate Montaung Five Minute Friday “Connect”

Thanks for sharing your God moment Kelly! I love it when he gives us a glimpse of him to encourage our weary soul or boost our faith. Be blessed.

Calvonia thank you for visiting. It is so amazing getting an opportunity to know you.

I love your image of the rainbow — sometimes we just need that little taste (smudge) to let us know God’s with us.
Kelly says
The rainbow picture I shared is from a much nicer day but it reminded me of the morning’s rainbow in that it was so dear and so present. I love God’s signs and nudging. π Thank you for coming by Jeannie. I appreciate it so much and appreciated your post.

Beautiful post. There is something special about a stranger trusting you with matters of their heart even in that there must be a connection through Him.
Kelly says
Isn’t it wonderful how God lets us glimpse His work in other’s lives?
Christina Hubbard says
Hey, Kelly, I love your rainbow moment. You must live in a warmer climate;). Capturing those moments are so essential to growing closer to God. Thank you for sharing that.
Kelly says
Yes Christina. I live in Arizona. Not terribly warm though as we are a mile high. Still 40 degrees is a lot better than what some have had. Thank you so much for coming by.

I haven’t done a 5 Minute Friday in forever too. I enjoyed writing to a topic that didn’t come out of my head. Where does the time go? Connecting is so powerful on both the relational and spiritual level. A good word to reflect on.

Glad I’m not alone on my long hiatus. π Looking forward to really getting in the swing of things and definitely the connection. Thanks for coming by Ginger. π
